  • D1/D2KO ( Mus musculus )

    Knockout; homozygote.

    Mouse has no obvious phenotype or reproductive impairment.

  • D1KO ( Mus musculus )

    Knockout; homozygote. No gross phenotype or reproductive impairment.

  • D2/MCT8KO ( Mus musculus )

    Mouse deficient in the type 2 deiodinase and the Mct8 thyroid hormone transporter. Knockout; homozygote; D2KO homozygote male x D2KO/MCT8 heterozygote female. The MCT8 gene is carried on the X-chromosome. Since male mice from the above cross carry only one copy of the MCT8 allele, the male progeny are approximately 50% WT and 50% MCT8KO; all are KOs for the D1 and the D2. This mouse appears healthy with minor growth impairment. Brain T3 content is reduced to a greater extent than in the single KOs and some mild impairment of neurofunction is present. PMID: 20211971

  • D2KO ( Mus musculus )

    Knockout; homozygote.

    Mouse has no obvious phenotype or reproductive impairment.

  • Mct8KO ( Mus musculus )

    Knockout; Wild type male x MCT8 heterozygote female. Mouse deficient in the Mct8 thyroid hormone transporter.

    The Mct8 gene is carried on the X-chromosome. Since male mice from the above cross carry only one copy of the Mct8 allele, the male progeny are approximately 50% WT and 50% MCT8KO.

    Mouse has no obvious phenotype and is fertile.
